In
these days of professional technology, the Bangalore
University as a new emerging trend for both employment
and academic excellence has rightly started Post Graduate
Course in Microbiology. Following the present trend
among the science subjects, Al-Ameen
Educational Society
founded in 1966 identified this course in big demand
in view of mushroom growth of health institutions, pharmaceuticals,
antibiotics and agribiotech industries.
The PG. Centre is committed to spread
the flame of knowledge and wisdom. One among many objectives
of the centre is to shape and mould the personality
of a student to become an acceptable citizen of the
society and to strive for excellence in honing and harnessing
the potential of students and giving the best from the
teaching fraternity.
The Post Graduate Courses in Microbiology
of Al-Ameen
Arts, Science and Commerce College
affiliated to Bangalore University was started in 1993
- 94 with an intention to provide quality education
and make it accessible and affordable to every section
of the society. The department has developed one of
the best infrastructures in Bangalore University. The
students are trained by very able, experienced, dedicated
faculty who are specialized in various fields and posses
high academic qualification in different branches of
Microbiology. The department observes strict discipline.
Eleven batches of students have successfully passed
out with flying colours, University ranks and all the
students are well settled either in jobs or higher studies.

The PG Department of Microbiology had an Association
called MICRBIONTS – Al-Ameen
Association of Microbiologists, established
in 1995 has been organizing and conducting seminars,
symposium, workshops and other academic activities
year after year, and now the same association is renamed
as ASMB – Al-Ameen
Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology
in 2002. this association is responsible for establishing
the Alumni of Microbiology and Biotechnology disciplines.
The PG. Department has been bringing out a biennial
news bulletin MICROBE which is an official organ of
the Al-Ameen
Society for Microbiology and Biotechnology.
An extension lecture by the experts in different field,
weekly seminars supported by audio, video equipment
like OHP, Slide projector and LCD is a regular feather.
An air-conditioned, well-furnished auditorium is the
prime facility of the center.
