The institution has NSS unit with Student strength of 100.

Objectives:

·                                 To inculcate values of service among the youth.

2003-04

 

Regular activity:

  • About 45 volunteers cleaned Bada Makaan graveyard.
  • About 45 volunteers cleaned the premises of Government Primary school, Mavahalli, Bangalore.
  • 20-30 volunteers donated blood to the patients of various hospitals of Bangalore.
  • 70 volunteers were involved in organizing annual college exhibition.

 

Special camp:

Ten days special camp was organized at Khaji Sonnena Halli, Hoskote (tq.), Bangalore (dist).

From 1.10.2003 to 10.10.2003. 46 N.S.S volunteers and 2 programme officers attended the camp. The activities that are taken up during the camp are:

·         Cleaning of Basavana Kunte of Parthenium weeds.

·         Construction of water tank of area 120 X 50 X 2 feet for the purpose of drinking water for cattle.

·         Construction of mud road connecting village to Sri Siddeswara temple.

·         Cultural activities.

2004-05

 

Regular activity:

  • About 45 volunteers cleaned the graveyard of Bada Makan by clearing the weeds for 3 days on 26m, 27th and 28th of December 2004.
  • Many N.S.S volunteers were involved in collecting funds for Tsunami victims.
  • Our college N.S.S unit conducted inter-collegiate Essay Competition on "Youth for Jalasamvardhana", on 16th January 2005 as a part of celebration of National Youth Week; many colleges participated in this event.
  • 30 NSS volunteers participated in rally to mark the end of National Youth Week.
  • About 40 NSS Volunteers helped the college administration in conducting the college Exhibition.

 

Special camp:

A ten days special N.S.S camp, at a village called Girigowdana Dodde, Somanahalli Bangalore South, Bangalore. From 27th December 2004 to 5th January 2005.

38 N.S.S volunteers and 2 programme officers attended the camp. The activities that are taken up during the camp are:

·         The whole premise of Government Primary School was cleaned

·         The space in front of the School was very uneven and that was leveled.

·         Bore well found next to the School was surrounded by very unhygienic, environment, indeed a good breeding place for mosquitoes. This place was made clean and dry.

·         The village temple was surrounded by lot of weeds and the steps leading to the temple was blocked. Our NSS volunteers cleared the weeds and steps were made usable.

·         Making a massive play ground for the school children and youth of the village by clearing weeds.

·         Cultural activities.

·         Everyday interesting topics were discussed by eminent people;

2005-2006

Regular activity:

·         50 volunteers cleaned up Bada Makaan Barial ground adjacent to the college.

·         30 volunteers donated blood to the patients of different hospitals.

·         80 volunteers helped in organizing the annual exhibition.

 

 

 

2006-2007

 

Regular activity:

  • HIV awareness programme in which films were screened

·         Cleaning the school premises of the surrounding areas like Mavalli, Vinobla Nagar, Sudham Nagar, Bada Makkan.

·         Volunteers donated blood to the very needy and poor patients.

·         Fund collection drive to help the poor people.

 

Special camp:

10 days NSS camp was at Hoskote Taluk in the month of Feb 2007. 42 N.S.S volunteers and 2 programme officers attended the camp. The activities that are taken up during the camp are:

·         Making drainage

·         Leveling of roads

·         Clearing village school and temples.

 

 

2007-2008

Regular activity:

  • Visited Freedom Foundation near Hennur bonde village, it is a Non- Government organization, looking after HIV infected persons.
  • 40 volunteers donated blood to the patients of different hospitals.
  • Cleaning the campus of the government schools of the near by areas like Sudham Nagar, Vinobha Nagar, Dayananda slum.
  • Educative programme on education, Health and hygiene was organized in the above slums.

 

Special camp:

10 days NSS camp was held at Katkena halli, Hoskote Taluk, Bangalore (Dist)

50 N.S.S volunteers and 2 programme officers attended the camp. The activities that are taken up during the camp are:

  • Repairing the road of 5 kms.
  • Drainage making.
  • Recharge of village borewell.
  • Educative programmes on Education, Health and Hygeine.
