About Department
The Department is engaged in conducting U.G course in Electronics leading to B.Sc. The aim of this program is to provide the necessary theoretical and practical training in order to meet the requirements of the Bangalore University syllabus.
A full range of resources and facilities are available to the students. The department has a well equipped electronics laboratory with various modern equipments.
The quality and relevance of the education we deliver is reflected in our exceptional record in our students finding placements in a wide range of prestigious companies.
To keep pace with competition, we continually put our effort to increase the quality of teaching, targeting rapidly growing industrial sectors. This has ensured that we will continue to provide industry with the well-qualified graduates it needs.

Student Support
Periodical Counseling will be undertaken to over come stress and anxiety with regard to subject issues. We offer individual and group counseling.
Identifying average performing students and providing them with additional coaching classes.
Encouraging students to participate in inter-collegiate competitions and science exhibitions.
The department is actively participating in the annual exhibition conducted in our college. This has not only helped the students to learn electronics in an enjoyable way but also gave exposure to actual usage of electronic components.
The department strongly encourages active participation of alumni. Hence regular interactive sessions and discussion meetings are being arranged. This has motivated the students considerably to pursue higher education and better placements.
To provide the students the actual exposure to the environments of top companies and research organizations, visits were arranged to Infosys and Indian Institute of Science. This has improved the understanding of the subject significantly better.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY
Teaching policy adopted - Stress is being given to train the students in more practical oriented way
It is mandatory for each student to give seminars on topics related to syllabus which helps in understanding the subject more effectively.
By reducing the usage of 'Ready to Use' kits, students are encouraged to build/fabricate indigenous circuits to carryout lab experiments.
Example : Final semester interfacing experiments are done using interface kits developed and fabricated by the students. This received great appreciation from the external examiners
Final semester students are encouraged to do project work using self conceived ideas instead of 'Do it yourself' type of circuits.

Project work done by students
Radar using IR
Demonstration of satellite communication system
Tsunami detecting and alarming system etc.
Unmanned railway level crossing
Remote controlled fan regulator
Vehicle speed checker

FUTURE PLANS
Inviting faculty from prestigious institutions and research organizations to give an opportunity to interact and discuss with them. This will go a long way in making the students to improve their competitiveness to meet the challenging carriers ahead of them.
Inviting and organizing guest lectures from key persons from top industries, it companies etc to induce interest in modern technologies.
Arranging visits to electronic oriented industries to enrich the practical knowledge.
Continuing with the interaction meetings with the alumni who are pursuing their carriers in good companies.
Emphasis will be given to attract more students to opt for electronics.
