Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institutions :

Many staff members of our college have enrolled for M.Phils & PhD., from different universities. The college administration tried to have M.O.U with different scientific institution & Industry. Due to the institutions of tutorial system a good number of students have benefited the same system is being continued this year also.

The examination reforms which were initiated during the previous year is being continued this year also.

Honours /Awards to the faculty :
Dr. Shaheen Taj head of Department of Chemistry was invited to be the life member of 
 International Congress in Chemistry & Environment
 Nature Environment & Pollution Technology
She was also invited to be the associate editor of the journals brought out by these organization.

Resources generated through fee collection.

Community Services :
The N.C.C. contingent of the college have entered a tie-up with Lalbagh Botanical Gardens to take up social activity like environmental awareness.

About 50 students of the college donated blood on different days at Jayadeva Cardiology Institute & Narayana Hrudalaya Bangalore.

Teaching – Non Teaching Staff Ratio : 9 : 4
Improvement in Library service Internet facility have been provided to the students in the library.

New Books and journals about 1809 worth about Rs.2,26,572-00 have been added to the library.

Number of courses for which student assessment of teachers is introduced and the action taken on student feedback :
The feed back from students was taken for all classes Viz., B.A., B.Sc., B.Com to know the weakness & strengths of the teachers and to take corrective measures to make teaching more effective and purposeful.

A Committee of three faculty members and principal was constituted. The Committee interacted with individual teachers and suggested corrective measures for enhancements of good work.

Unit Cost of Education :
The Unit cost of education for the year 2005-06 is Rs. 6370/-

Computerization of administration and the process of admissions and Examination results, issue of certificates :
Computerization of administration is taken up under regular basis.

Computer and internet access and training to teachers and students :
Computer and internet access training to teachers and students have been provided.

Financial aid to students :
About 150 students were admitted with a concessional fee which amounts to rupees 13 lakhs. Apart from this Al-Ameen Scholarship Committee provided scholarship to about 100 poor and deserving students.

Health Services :
The Health services are provided to the students. Doctor is available on call basis.

Performance in sports activities :
Our College has the distinction of being one of best known colleges of Bangalore in the field of sports.  Our Colleges athletic team has earned the distinction of bagging the overall Athletic Championship successively for the past 20 year.  Mr. Md. Mudasir of our college is the fastest Athlete of the Bangalore University he is also youngest recipient of Karnataka Olympic Award.

Athletics :
The Bangalore University Athletic team has more than 10 boys and girls from our institution to represent Inter-University Athletic meet held at Tirunelveli.  Two of our athletes, Mr. Rohit and Miss. Jyothi Kolekar won the bronze Medal at the Meet.

Volley Ball :
Our college Volley Ball Team won the Bangalore University Inter-Collegiate south zone and inter-zonal volley ball tournament.  9 volley ball players of the college are selected to represent Bangalore University team.  The college Volley Ball team has won several rolling shield in the various tournaments like

 Yajman Kanchappa Tournament
 St.Johns Medical College tournament
 Christ College Tournament
 Athens Rolling Shield.
One of our Volley Ball Players Pritvi is the recipient of Karnataka State Olympic award.

Cricket :
Our College Cricket team participated in K.L Cricket Super Cup Tournament held at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.  We reached the semi final stage.  One of our Cricketer Mr.Imran Pasha was declared best all rounder of the Tournament, on account of his performance he was selected by the Bangalore University.  The entire team of he Judo players of the University is from our college.  Mr. Tauseef, Mr. Barkath, Mr. Zabiulla, Mr. Rajneesh & Mr. Basha have represented in All-India Inter-University Championships.

Basket Ball :
Our Basket Ball team achieved great distinction and brought laurels to the college and as well as to the University. Mr. Irman Ali Baig and Mr. Dilip represented Bangalore University in the All India Basket Ball Tournament.

Archery :
Two of our Archers- Mr. Birjesh and Mr. Mir Asgar Ali were selected to represent Bangalore University team.

Foot Ball :
The most outstanding team among the team events is the college Football team.  16 players of the Bangalore University Foot ball team 10 are from our college. They have excelled in their performance in each and every tournament they represented. They are the winners in Tournaments conducted by

 NIIT, SBM Jain College, Bangalore

Placement services provided to students :

 Mentor System/counseling system was continued as in the previous years by making a batch of 30 students and assigning them for counseling in different spheres of activities.
 Mr. Zaheer Hussain CEO “True man” Bangalore conducted a days’ seminar to the final year students on different aspects of career guidance.

 
Development programme for non-teaching staff :
Regular meetings for non-teaching staff were held and the non-teaching staff   were appraised the various problems faced by  the stake holders and the Solutions of the problems sought and implemented.

Prof. R. Mushtaq Ahmed
Vice-Principal and HOD of Commerce was a resource person at the National Seminar in Postgraduate Department, Kakatiya University, Warangal. He Presented a paper on “Women Empowerment through Entrepreneurship in Globalized Era”. He also presented a paper on “Leveraging the Horizons of Business through Need Based Commerce Education” held at DKM College for Women, Vellore in the month of August 2005. A paper on “Impact of Liberalization on life Insurance sector in changing scenario” was presented by him at the National seminar conducted by the Department of Management Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru College of Engineering, Kuvempu University.

Dr. Mohammed Khaiser Ahmed
Head of the Department of Economics was a resource person at different fora. He attended many national seminars, symposia and workshops.  He has presented many papers.  Following is the list of a few papers presented by him.

Resource person for the preparation of Procedure in Histochemistry-for the final degree students of Bangalore University

Prof. Md. Roshan Farouqui
Lecturer in the department of Zoology was selected by P.U.C Board to be on the panel of Resource persons to orient Biology Lecturers of Bangalore South on the revised II P.U.C Syllabus.

He was invited as a resource person to deliver guest lectures on various topics of Biology by different colleges of Bangalore.  After 5 years of hard work, he has achieved the distinction of possessing over 1500 movies related to life sciences.
 
Dr. Shaheen Taj

She was Invited to be the “Associate Editor” for two International research Journals in Chemical & Environmental Sciences.

She was invited to be the life member of “International Congress of Chemistry and Environment” & “Nature Environment & Pollution Technology”. Dr. Shaheen Taj was invited to present her research paper entitled ‘Development of Green Inhibitors for oil & Gas applications” at the NACE International 61st Annual Conference & Exposition Corrosion/2006 at San Diego, California, USA during March 12th to 16th 2006.

Prof. M.S.M Khateeb
Professor in the Department of Chemistry attended the IV semester Chemistry syllabus blow up workshop held at Christ College by the Chemistry Teachers forum on 19.10.2005.  He also coordinated the chemistry Department Industrial visit of III B.Sc Chemistry students to “ Indian Bureau of Mines” on 19.1.2006. He was a resource person in the workshop organized by BECCA and Al-Ameen Educational society for Urdu School teachers.
